- Part-Time Research Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting and organizing information on the policies, industry status, and development trends related to DSET’s research topics (Climate Resilience and Sustainability, Democratic Governance, National Security, and Economic Security) in Taiwan and various countries/regions.
- Regularly gather news trends and provide brief analysis.
- Support the media and public relations team with necessary editorial work.
- Assist in organizing DSET’s events.
Requirements:
- Fluent in English (Mandarin proficiency is preferred); additional languages are a plus.
- Possess basic skills in data visualization (e.g., creating charts) and article formatting.
- Have a basic understanding of policy analysis.
- Teamwork skills.
Eligibility:
- Research Assistants must be master’s or PhD students.

- DSET collaborates with many international think tanks and researchers. Joining the team provides ample opportunities to learn about and discuss global issues and trends. You’ll also learn more about the think tank ecosystem and actively participate in producing policy reports.
Salary information:
- Part-Time Research Assistant:
- Master‘s degree: NT.8000-10000 per month
- Doctor’s degree: NT.15000-20000 per month

- Climate Resilience and Sustainability: If you were to discuss “Energy Security” based on Taiwan’s experience with think tankers from the United States, how would you prepare a 1-2 page English briefing? What would the main content include?
- National Security: If tasked with collecting information on “National Security and Dual-Use Technology” and comparing current situations between Taiwan and the U.S., what strategy would you adopt? How would you handle unfamiliar technical terms?
- Democratic Governance: If you were tasked with summarizing recent trends in AI technology and governance, how would you plan this work, and what framework would you use to organize the content?
- Economic Security: In the context of current U.S.-China competition, what economic security challenges does Taiwan face regarding critical technologies? Please provide 2-3 examples and suggest potential solutions.
- Press and Communication team: This team is dedicated to expanding Taiwan’s narratives on semiconductor, AI, energy technology, and defense tech policies in international media through press interviews, op-eds, and by fostering debates, discussions, and research cooperation with international think tanks.
