Fanny Fang-Yi Chao specializes in Taiwan’s national security and defense policy, with research expertise in U.S.-Taiwan collaboration on uncrewed systems and China’s military operations involving uncrewed systems. She holds a Master of Arts in Asian Studies from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and has worked at the Center for Security and Emerging Technology and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. Previously, she served as an assistant analyst in Taiwan’s government, focusing on defense policy analysis, and as a policy assistant in Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan, where she concentrated on foreign affairs and defense policy.
