Hung-Yuan TENG

Hung-yuan (Ryan) Teng is currently a Policy Analyst in the National Security Research Program at DSET, where his research focuses on Taiwan–Japan cooperation on unmanned systems. His research has been cited by media outlets including Nikkei Asia, The Japan Times, and Sankei Shimbun.

Before joining DSET, he served as an intern at the Taiwan Association for Human Rights, where he focused on local human rights issues in Taiwan. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), where his research focused on Taiwan’s foreign policy.

From July to December 2026, he will be based in Tokyo as a Special Research Fellow at the Security Strategy Research Institute of Japan (SSRI).
