Jieh-Min Wu

Dr. Jieh-Min Wu’s research interests include political sociology, political economy, social movements, democratization, and the public sphere. His past research has primarily focused on three main themes. Firstly, the correlation between the development model of Chinese capitalism and the changes in political and social systems. Secondly, issues related to the democratization of Taiwanese society, social movements, and the public sphere. Thirdly, the historical changes in the relationship between Taiwan and China (cross-strait relations). He has authored several books, including “Rival Partners: How Taiwanese Entrepreneurs and Guangdong Officials Forged the China Development Model,” “China’s Influence and the Center-periphery Tug of War in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Indo-Pacific,” and other books written in Chinese and Japanese.
