Tammy Jih-Hsuan Lin is a Distinguished Professor at the College of Communication, National Chengchi University (NCCU). She also serves as an Associate Editor of the top-tier international journal Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, Director of the International Master’s Program in International Communication at NCCU, Chair of the NCCU Research Ethics Review Committee, and President of the Taiwan Association for Information Society Research.

In 2016, she acquired Taiwan’s first HTC Vive, marking the beginning of her research in virtual reality and the metaverse. Her research focuses on communication technologies, including virtual reality spatial computing, digital games, and social media, with an emphasis on human psychological well-being. In recent years, her work has centered on the governance of immersive technologies and digital trust in AI applications. Her outstanding contributions have earned her the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Outstanding Research Award and the Wu Ta-You Memorial Award. In 2022, she received Meta’s Global Competitive Research Award, and in 2024, she was recognized among the world’s top 2% of scientists.

In 2024, Professor Lin was invited by Meta to speak at the Meta Connect conference at its U.S. headquarters, where she shared insights on virtual reality design and governance. That same year, she became the first representative from Taiwan invited to the OECD’s BNCT (Bio, Nano, and Converging Technologies) initiative in Europe to discuss Taiwan’s governance and innovation in immersive technologies. She currently serves as a member of the Meta APAC XR Academic Network and as an advisory board member for content moderation and safety on international social media platforms.
