Dr. Yu-Ceng Liao is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Political Science at Academia Sinica. Previously he was a postdoctoral research fellow at at the Taiwan Studies Center of National Chengchi University, having earned his PhD in Political Science from the University of Houston (2015-2021). Dr. Liao majored in comparative politics with a minor in American politics, focusing his research on political institutions and behaviors. His expertise and interests span comparative political institutions, political party and parliamentary politics, public policy and legislation, public opinion and elections, experimental design in political behavior, technology policy and politics, data governance, and evidence-based decision-making. His current research investigates voter behavior and public opinion attitudes, distributive politics within legislatures, the legislative process of policy bills, and candidates’ campaigning and political behavior from political dynasties. He is also delving into the intersection of technology and politics, notably his interest in the democratic impacts of disinformation generated by generative AI and the geopolitics of the semiconductor supply chain. Furthermore, he is committed to writing accessible political science articles published in “WhoGovernsTW” and other online platforms.
