[Clarification Statement from the Research Institute for Democracy, Society and Emerging Technology (DSET)]

On October 8, The Wall Street Journal published a report stating that DSET had co-run a Taiwan energy security wargame held at the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C. This report was subsequently translated and republished by several Taiwanese media outlets. However, upon verification, DSET confirms that it neither co-run nor participated in the mentioned wargame.

Following clarification with The Wall Street Journal, the article was corrected on the evening of October 8. A correction notice has been added to the original report as follows:

“Corrections & Amplifications

Sen. Pete Ricketts participated in a wargame run by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies that showed Taiwan running out of LNG within 11 days in a blockade. An earlier version of this article incorrectly said the wargame was co-run with the Research Institute for Democracy, Society and Emerging Technology. (Corrected on Oct. 8)”
